In 2019 UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, addressed the International Assembly and declared that data was the new oil of the modern era. The term originated in 2006 used by mathematician Clive Humby.

Since then the world has shifted with digital laws tightening their grip on what can — and cannot — be said and done, as we continue to evolve in the digital age.
